Why is my Check engine light on? This is one of the many questions our service center gets daily and the truth is that there are hundreds of things it could be!
Sometimes it could be something very minor like a faulty gas cap which is very minor, or it could be something much more serious like a misfiring engine or any one of the many sensors that are there to keep you safe.
There is not much you can do on your own to see why your check engine light is on, but what you can do is bring it in to Pettijohn Auto Center! We can run the diagnostics on pretty much any brand on the road!
What we do to find the reason for the light is run diagnostics on the vehicle through the computer, this will check every sensor in your vehicle and give us the road map to your specific vehicle. Once we have located the vehicle, with your permission, we will fix the issue and if we can’t we will coordinate with someone who can to make sure you are back on the road safe and sound!
